Mezzo-soprano Teresa Lin has been a freelance singer in the Seattle area since 2008, including alto soloist for Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Jenkins’ The Armed Man, Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. An avid art song recitalist, Teresa enjoys creating recitals that immerse the audience in a multi-sensory experience. One of her concerts at the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory in Tacoma featured songs using Shakespeare’s texts, sung amid a display of flowers and plants that grew in Shakespeare’s own garden. A favorite recurring performance is singing the Star Spangled Banner at Mariners home games since 2009.
Before settling in Kirkland, Teresa held a full-time two-year contract at the Landestheater repertory theater in Coburg, Germany. Singing over 140 performances of thirteen productions, she loved the variety of performing musicals, rock opera, operetta, and opera under a diverse collection of directors, choreographers, and designers. Her favorite roles were Texas the Kit Kat Girl in Cabaret and Hattie in Kiss Me Kate.
Teresa earned Masters degrees in Vocal Performance and Music History from the University of Washington. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Performance and German from Washington State University, and studied at the Mozarteum and the University of Salzburg in Austria.
