Facilities & Travel

Whitman College is located in Walla Walla, in the heart of Washington’s wine country, and offers excellent air conditioned facilities for all program activities. The Retreat will rehearse and perform in Cordiner Hall, the brand new Hall of Music, Chism Recital Hall, and in various academic buildings on the compact campus. The campus is a beautifully landscaped, shaded, classic brick college with a stream running through it.

On Campus housing in dormitories consists of double occupancy rooms in Douglas, Anderson, and College House. Prentiss features semi-private suites: two people share a main door, but have their own room. Prentiss Hall is air conditioned, College House utilizes evaporative cooling, while Douglas and Anderson will require fans for cooling. College House features en suite restrooms, while the remaining dorms have shared restrooms separated by gender. A limited number of single rooms are available for an additional fee. Housing includes bedding, linens and towels. Meals are provided by Bon Appetit and feature local produce and wide variety. Meals are served cafeteria style in the Dining Hall adjoining Prentiss Hall and include vegetarian and other dietary needs options.

Housing in Prentiss will be assigned by lottery on February 28.  Eligible applicants must have completed their registration including the deposit.

Many campers find off-campus housing in Walla Walla. Motels within walking distance of the campus are  Red Lion Inn and Suites and the Travelodge.

MMR will assist campers in arranging private car pools, but assumes no liability for those arrangements.
